Chocolate Superfood Smoothie
INGREDIENTS:
1-2 cups of leafy greens (kale/spinach)
1/4 avocado
1/4-1/2 banana
1/2 Tbsp flax or chia seed
1 - 1 1/2 cup liquid (unsweetened nut/plant based milk or water)
1 serving chocolate protein powder (I like Equilibrium Nutrition Daily Nutritional Support, Ancient Nutrition, Primal Kitchen and Perfect Keto Collagen)
1 Tbsp cacao powder (can also use coco powder)
Optional: 1/2 cup blueberries and/or apple cider vinegar.
DIRECTIONS:
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth!
Recommend placing all the leafy greens at the bottom of blender for an easier blend.
PUMPKIN SPICE GREEN SMOOTHIE
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup organic pumpkin puree
- 1-2 cups of organic dark leafy greens (fresh or frozen)
- 1 tsp pumpkin spice (or use a combo of cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg cloves, ginger)
- 1/2 cup of unsweetened coconut milk
- 1 Tbsp Turmeric Maple Pecan Humble Nut Butter I love all three of their flavors)
- 1 serving vanilla protein powder. I love this Daily Nutritional Support
- 1 Tbsp flax seed (see note below)
- Approximately 6-8 ounces of water to attain desired consistency
- Optional: peel of fresh ginger
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in blender and whip to desired consistency.
Notes
- Use whole flax seed for optimal nutrition and blend at the time youโre making your smoothie. Refrigerate your flax seed after the package is open. I recommend storing in a glass gar like this mason jar.
- Want it sweeter? Add a 1/4-1/2 of a banana or a couple drops of monk fruit sweetener.
- You can use unsweetened almond milk in place of water.
